 이번 행사는 인공지능(AI)과 블록체인 기술을 활용한 한국 패션의 융합을 강조하며, 웹3.0 시대의 비즈니스 플랫폼 출범을 목표로 하고 있는 것에 대해 상당한 호기심을 표하기도 했다. 이를 통해 디자이너, 인플루언서, 투자자들이 모여 창작물과 비즈니스 모델을 육성하는 협력의 장이 될 것이고 Eldeeb 디자이너도 자신들과 함께 일하는 사람들과 함께 아우라 100 디지털 플렛폼에 참여해 한국의 다양한 문화와 결합한 문화컬렉션을 만들기를 희망했다.

Q: 지난 4월에 열린 패션쇼에 두바이 협력 디자이너로 참석했는데 소감이 어떤가요?

A: 멋진 패션쇼 무대에 함께해서 즐거웠고 아주 기뻤습니다. 패션 무대를 통해 제 디자인을 알리는 것뿐만 아니라, 한국의 의상을 주제로 한 무대는 관객이 되어 즐길 수 있는 멋진 무대였습니다. 함께 참석했던 지인들도 한국의 패션 무대를 경험해서 아주 만족스러워했고, 초대해 주셔서 감사하다는 말을 전해왔습니다.

Q: 자신의 디자인에 한국의 문화와 관련된 것을 접목해 보는 것에 대해서는 어떻게 생각하시나요?

A: 이번 행사를 통해 한국 패션 무대에 영감을 받았고, 또한 한국의 전통 및 한국적인 요소에 영감을 얻어 패션에 접목해보는 데 관심이 많이 생겼습니다. 한국과 관련된 여러 문화를 이해해 보고 싶어 관련된 내용을 찾아보기도 하고, 많은 기회를 통해 접해보려고 합니다. 또, 한국 드라마를 좋아해서 많이 즐겨 보기도 했고, 음식 등 다양한 문화를 체험할 기회를 많이 가져보고 싶습니다. 현재 제자들과 함께 이집트와 한국 문화를 결합한 100여 개 작품을 만들고 있습니다.

Q: 한국을 방문해 본 적이 있으신가요?

A: 아직은 가 본 적이 없지만, 꼭 기회를 마련해서 가보고 싶습니다. 이집트와 달리 4계절이 있어서 다양한 계절을 경험할 수 있고, 그 다양한 계절 경험이 한국의 패션 저력을 튼튼하게 하는 데 많은 역할을 했다고 생각해서 꼭 한번 방문해 보고 싶습니다.

Q: 디지털 도구를 활용해 패션 디자인을 하는 것에 대해서는 어떻게 생각하시나요?

A: 패션 업계에서도 디지털 도구들이 많이 사용되고 있고, 많은 디자이너들이 새로운 창작 도구를 받아들여 사용하고 있습니다. 드로잉에 사용하는 태블릿이나 전자 펜 등이 그런 도구들인데요, 전통 펜 드로잉을 고집하는 디자이너도 있지만, 새로운 도구를 활용하는 사람들이 영 디자이너를 중심으로 늘어가는 추세입니다. 디지털 도구를 사용하면 다양한 디자인(컬러, 라인, 패턴)에서 많은 효율을 얻을 수 있었습니다.

Q: AI를 활용한 디자인에 대해서는 어떻게 생각하시나요? 또 어떤 것을 디자인해 보고 싶은가요?

A: AI를 활용한 디자인 또한 새로운 트렌드로서 꼭 배우고 익혀봐야 할 것으로 생각합니다. 패션 방면에서 다양한 신기술을 경험하고 제 디자인을 완성해 나가는 데 많은 도움을 받을 수 있을 거라고 생각합니다. 특히 꽃을 좋아하는 편이라, 꽃과 관련된 여러 패턴들, 한국의 문화와 관련된 여러 패턴들을 만들어 보고 싶습니다.

홍은주 디자이너(세계스타트업포럼 부회장/전)크리스챤디올 디자이너)는 "서아시아 아랍권의 디자이너들이 한국의 전통 의상을 흥미롭게 바라보고, 그로부터 영감을 받는다는 점이 조금 놀랍기도 하고 새로운 발견인 것 같습니다"고 말했다

덧붙여 "우리가 생각하는 우리의 전통 의상에 대한 고정관념을 그들의 눈과 감각을 통해 재조명하고 재해석해서 선보일 작품들은 과연 어떤 모습일지 무척 궁금해집니다. 우리에게는 오래되고 낡은 혹은 너무나 익숙한 한국 전통 의상들이 그들의 관점으로 어찌 비추어지고 새롭게 재탄생될지 매우 기대가 되고 흥미롭습니다". 서로 다른 문화가 융합되고 재해석되면서 보여질 전혀 새로운 형태의 아이템들을 기다려봅니다" 고 디자이너들의 작품을 기대한다고 말했다.

Particularly notable was the participation of Dubai's collaborating designer, Eldeeb, who received much attention.

Eldeeb designer shared his thoughts on participating in this fashion show, saying, "I was delighted and very happy to be part of such a wonderful fashion show stage. Not only did I get to showcase my designs, but the stage featuring Korean clothing was a fantastic experience as an audience member."

Friends who attended with him were also very satisfied with the experience of the Korean fashion stage and expressed their gratitude for the invitation.

This event highlighted the integration of Korean fashion with artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology, expressing considerable curiosity about the launch of a business platform for the Web 3.0 era. It aimed to foster collaboration among designers, influencers, and investors to cultivate creative works and business models. Eldeeb designer also hoped to participate in the Aura 100 digital platform with his colleagues to create cultural collections combining various aspects of Korean culture.

The K-Culture Festival, a fashion show that combined traditional Korean attire, Hanbok, with modern technology, received great acclaim in Dubai's cultural and business circles. Through this experience, designer Eldeeb has developed a greater interest in Korean culture and fashion and expressed a desire to incorporate Korean elements into his future designs.

The event served as a meaningful occasion to promote cultural exchange between Dubai and Korea and demonstrated how new technologies and traditions could harmonize. Following this, inquiries about participation have been received from the Egyptian government and various fashion designers in the Middle East region.

Interview with Alaa Eldeeb

Q: How do you feel about attending the K-Culture Festival fashion show in April as a collaborating designer from Dubai?

A: I was delighted and very happy to be part of such a wonderful fashion show stage. Not only did I get to showcase my designs, but the stage featuring Korean clothing was a fantastic experience as an audience member. My friends who attended with me were also very satisfied with the experience of the Korean fashion stage and expressed their gratitude for the invitation.

Q: What do you think about incorporating Korean cultural elements into your designs?

A: The event inspired me a lot with the Korean fashion stage, and I have gained much interest in integrating traditional Korean elements into my fashion designs. I want to understand various Korean cultures and seek related opportunities. I enjoy Korean dramas and would like to experience various aspects of Korean culture, including food. Currently, my students and I are working on over 100 pieces that combine Egyptian and Korean cultures.

Q: Have you ever visited Korea?

A: I haven't had the chance to visit yet, but I definitely want to. Unlike Egypt, Korea has four distinct seasons, and I believe experiencing these diverse seasons has played a significant role in strengthening Korean fashion. I definitely want to visit.

Q: How do you feel about using digital tools in fashion design?

A: Digital tools are widely used in the fashion industry, and many designers are adopting these new creative tools. Tools like tablets and electronic pens for drawing are becoming popular, especially among young designers. Using digital tools has been very efficient in various design aspects such as color, line, and pattern.

Q: What do you think about AI-powered design, and what would you like to create?

A: AI-powered design is a new trend that I think is essential to learn and master. I believe it will greatly help me complete my designs by experiencing various new technologies in fashion. I particularly like flowers and would like to create various patterns related to flowers and Korean culture.

Eunju Hong, a former vice president of the World Startup Forum and former head designer at Christian Dior, said, "It is somewhat surprising and a new discovery that designers from the West Asian Arab world are intrigued by and draw inspiration from Korean traditional clothing."

She added, "I am very curious about how our traditional clothing, which we perceive as old, worn, or overly familiar, will be reinterpreted and presented through their eyes and senses. I am very much looking forward to and am intrigued by the entirely new forms of items that will be showcased as different cultures blend and reinterpret each other."
